HLTAID001
This course provides you with the knowledge to recognise the signs of an unconscious casualty and respond appropriately, with an emphasis on performing Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

Important note: In order to issue an accredited certificate CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions.

The face to face training is 2.5 hours and covers both theory and practical aspects of CPR Training.

The certificate is valid for 12 months. Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills are refreshed annually.

Provide first aid

HLTAID003 – One day format
This unit of competency deals with the provision of first aid through recognizing and responding to an emergency using basic life support measures. This includes calling for help, the ability to respond to first aid situations, casualty assessment, decision making and basic life support functions including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). This First Aid course covers adult and child conditions.

Refresher courses available for participants who hold a current (3 year) Provide First Aid Certificate. Only variation is the On-line Workbook component is not required.

Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance.
On-line workbook to be completed prior to attendance (not required for the refresher course).

Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting

HLTAID004
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults. The unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. This unit of competency may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).

Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance.

On-line workbook to be completed prior to attendance.

HLTAID006
This unit of competency gives you the knowledge, skills and confidence to respond in an emergency situation. Advanced first aid training provides the necessary skills required to confidently coordinate, manage and instruct other first aiders across a range of complex situations – as well as within community and workplace environments.

Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance.

 

There are no prerequisites for this course.

The face to face training is over 2 days and covers both theory and practical aspects.

HLTAID007
This unit of competency provides the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. The course applies to workers who may be required to use specialised equipment to provide resuscitation in a range of complex situations, include community and workplace settings.

Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance.

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to enable them to assist a person suffering an anaphylactic reaction until medical assistance arrives.
