Provide First Aid

This unit of competency deals with the provision of first aid through recognizing and responding to an emergency using basic life support measures. This includes calling for help, the ability to respond to first aid situations, casualty assessment, decision making and basic life support functions including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). This First Aid course covers adult and child conditions.

• Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance.
• On-line workbook to be completed prior to attendance (not required for the refresher course).
• Important note: In order to issue an accredited certificate CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions.

Statement of Attainment for the nationally recognized unit of competency HLTAID003 from the Health Training Package. The certificate is valid for three (3) years from the completion date. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation skills be refreshed annually.
